he event, coorganised by the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) and Messe Berlin GmbH, was attended by leading figures from the political area such as Germany’s Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Minister of Transport of Turkey Lütfi Elvan. ILA 2014 also attracted many high-profile business delegations from around the world. Over 60 aerospace industry-related conferences were organised for the attending experts. 1203 exhibitors from 40 countries displayed their high-tech products and research and development projects to 227000 trade visitors and general public.
The
AFLONEXT’s Partner DLR displayed , beside several further research
aircraft, the test
vehicles in AFLONEXT, the DLR ATRA, which is an AIRBUS A320 equipped with
flight test instrumentation to accomplish the special challenges for the
upcoming AFLONEXT flight test campaigns in Spring and Summer 2016.
At the indoor stand, DLR provided information about the advantages
and benefits of the laminar flow techniques to be applied on large transport
aircraft.
With a live demonstrator for vibration monitoring the next generation
system identification technology developed at DLR was presented which allows
the automatic measurements of natural frequencies and mode shapes of an
airframe in almost real-time. This technology will be utilized and further
developed for the AFLONEXT flight test campaign to monitor vibration of the
undercarriage.
